Athens is built around the Acropolis and the pinnacled crag of Lycabettus Hill, which was said to have been dropped by the Gods from heaven to serve as a bulwark of the city against any possible attacks. Athens is a fairly populated city as it currently number approximately... inhabited.

The entrance to the "Propylea" (designed by Mnesycles) original architectural composition of great importance. The Parthenon is situated on the highest part of the Acropolis and was built between 447 and 437 BC and reflects the value and the objectives of the Athenian state at all time.
